Client Testimonials

Here are just a few of the many success stories of lives changed through Eden Outreach:

"My name is Shawnee Valentine. I was born in Kansas City, Missouri. When I was an infant, my father abandoned my mother and I. My mother raised me until I was eight years old when I was placed into the social services system. I lived in a foster home until I was sixteen. Then I moved to Dallas to be reunited with my mom. However, once I was back in Dallas, I saw that my mother was struggling financially so I began doing illicit activities to help my mother make ends meet. I was first arrested in 2006 and then again in 2011. In 2015, I was paroled to Eden Outreach. Eden Outreach has provided me the encouragement, support, training, and counseling that I needed to get me back on my feet and live a sober, clean life. I have learned the value of hard work, the importance of being humble, and to respect the law. While at Eden Outreach, I acquired certificates and licenses that helped me get a job at Enterprise at DFW International Airport and now the Borden facility in Dallas. I am grateful to God because he showed me mercy and His word is my guide in life."

"I was looking for a faith-based facility and was blessed to meet Mrs. Odamah who happened to have a room available in a quiet, peaceful environment. The first time my daughter, my granddaughter and I met her, she prayed for us in the spirit. I saw Jesus in her, and knew that I had found the right place. I'm happy to live around clean and sober people which encourages my continued sobriety of 2 years and 5 months. Without this program and the women who helped save me, I don't know where I would be. I have a grateful heart and a safe place to be while I continue to build a relationship with my higher power and the wonderful people around me."

Sean M. went through the Eden Outreach Recovery Program and completed the two-year Young Adult Transitional Recovery Program living in the facility.
Sean is completely free from any addictive substance. He graduated from the program and now lives with his family. Reintegrating back to society, reuniting with family, and becoming a part of the adult workforce is a great attainment and our expectation for our clients.
Sean is currently taking prerequisites at a county community college. Sean owns a car and drives himself to fulfill daily commitments. It is amazing.

Sonja Turner is an alumni of Eden Outreach. She came here from a treatment center to transition in our facility after she lost her job due to drug use. She completed the program and became the House mother. She was a responsible and caring individual and helped all the new residents that came to the program get situated. She assisted other residents achieve success in the program. She finally moved out to be with her family and has stayed clean and sober through the years. Mrs. Turner is now a caregiver.
